CorSera: What Pioli told the Milan squad at Milanello after defeat against Juventus

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan boss Stefano Pioli gave a rousing speech to his players after Wednesday night’s defeat against Juventus, according to a report.

The Rossoneri saw their unbeaten run in Serie A ended at 27 games by the champions as Federico Chiesa’s brace and Weston McKennie’s goal off the bench saw Juve run out 3-1 winners at San Siro, rendering Davide Calabria’s fantastic equaliser a mere flash in the pan on a difficult night for a team decimated by suspension problems.

According to il Corriere della Sera (via MilanLive), Pioli welcomed his players back to Milanello with the following words after the KO with Juventus: “Do not worry, guys, head right back up again and we go again.”

The Rossoneri coach wants the team to put the defeat at San Siro behind them and react with conviction: “We lost yes,but we have shown that we can compete with everyone.”

Pioli does not want the players to lose confidence as even the defeat against Juve showed that they are on the right path, because with so many absences the performance was still good overall.

Psychological repercussions must be avoided, and it is important to resume with a victory against Torino, so as to chase away any ghosts and serenely resume the race for a top four spot.
