CorSera: ‘Why not Camarda’ with Milan ‘desperate’ for a Morata alternative

By Ben Dixon -

With Alvaro Morata injured, another striker is needed at AC Milan, and questions have to be asked about who that could be.

Although Milan have conceded four goals so far this season, there has been a clear issue scoring goals, and there is a lack of inspiration in the frontline. When Morata came onto the pitch against Torino, a spark was provided but with him injured, there was pressure on Noah Okafor and Luka Jovic to impress against Parma.

Long story short, they didn’t. At all.

Okafor proved that he is not a starting striker, and he is an impact player – someone who can come on against tired legs and create problems. However, he is still young so there is room to grow. With Jovic, there is not the question of age, but rather system.

Time and time again, the Serbian has proved that he is better off working with another player, and he has not had the chance to do this under Paulo Fonseca, and it doesn’t seem like he will. Therefore an alternative to Morata is needed, with Corriere della Sera (via Milan News) stating the Rossoneri and Paulo Fonseca are ‘desperate’.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has already shown his reluctance to buy another striker, but it is needed. The paper asks ‘Why not Camarda’ but falls back on the reason of age. Ultimately, if your fallback on Morata is a 16-year-old who is not yet ready, that shows the need to invest.

Whether the management sees it that way remains to be seen, though.

    1. Lol Milan have barely spent as much as Atlanta and Fiorentina since Don Gerry took over. This is what it looks like to have a poor(relatively speaking) owner.

    2. Osimhen makes 10-12 mil a year, double than he deserves. His transfer is stalled by his refusal to lower his salary. Chelsea and PSG refuse to pay him that much

    3. I think Haaland would be cheaper fees + wage. Osimhen thinks he is some kind of football god and he will end up at Saudi Arabia at 25 years old because he is greedy.

  1. Okafor isn’t a striker. He play on left winger at Salzburg. Meanwhile Milan loanee Colombo already scoring goal from penalty and Nasti already gone. That’s why we need more carefully before loan out some players. Leao, okafor isn’t no. 9. Camarda only no. 9 left at Milan now, we should try him.

    1. They are looking at his age… forgetting that age is just a number. See lamine at 16…see what he did…Milan are just cowards. I really don’t know the actual reason they brought in Jovic for another season. Please someone should explain to me coz this club is becoming something else

  2. This is misleading – which unfortunately is typical.
Zlatan is not a sporting director – he does not buy players by himself.
Maldini or Massara did not make transfer decisions all by himself, Moncada does not make transfer decisions all by himself, it is a collaboration with a team.
These are not solo responsibilities. Then there are the financial responsibilities – the final decision to either loosen the purse string or not.

Feels like cheap tactics to trigger emotionally immature people in comments.

  3. why jery “the ambitious winner”, furlani “the genius” & moncada “the super agent” can’d do easy task to get Kessie from the Saudi’s, 15m Chiesa from shinking juve & unhappy Osimhen (55m w/ multiple payment formula)?
we’re the best financialy in Italy right?
just like incompetent M&M when they get Madrid flop Theo, injury prone Mike & wash-up Z/Giroud?
w/ short budget, salary cap & disaster from the previous owner.

    1. And who will pay Osimhen the 30M € he is asking per season? That guy is too greedy, people like that don’t go well in life. That is why he will go to Saudi Arabia.

  4. The team is not bad. All that is needed is cohesion on the pitch. It is also noteworthy that these players did not have a proper rest during the summer break due to international tournaments so they need delicate handling to shake off exhaustion.
