CorSport: Acting on promises – Fonseca’s aggressive Milan side taking shape

When Paulo Fonseca was appointed as AC Milan’s manager, he arrived with the promise of attractive and aggressive football, and so far, he is delivering that.

Appointing Stefano Pioli’s successor was a painful process, but as each day passes, there is more to be positive about Fonseca’s appointment, and there is a clear style within his Milan team after only three fixtures.

We can only use what data we have got, and whilst it is from friendly fixtures, there is a lot to like about the Portuguese head coach’s start to Rossoneri life. After a shaky start against Rapid Wien, the Diavolo have won both games of their American tour – against Real Madrid and Manchester City, respectively.

The noise when Fonseca was appointed was loud, and not a lot of it was positive, but since his arrival, there have been a heap of positives, aside from the fixtures. Of course, it is positive to see the work in front of us, but the reports from Milanello further solidify the good work that is being done, with players happy with his start to Diavolo life.

As Corriere dello Sport (via Milan News) reports, his new system has already gotten the better of Carlo Ancelotti, and his football is aggressive, which was the desired style from the management and fans alike. We are in the early stages, but the first signs are positive.

I know it is pre season and friendlies but omce you ha e Endricks, Brahim andodric amd you win 1-0 after City win at least give credit where the credit is due

Fonseca, if this is what we are to see suring the season, the style the game, entrusting youth, you already won me. Keep up the good work, lets hope we het fewore options in your roster and let’s continue our solid climb to where we belong

  2. What no praises? Where are all the usual cry babies?

I know it is pre season and friendlies but so it is for them as well. Once you have Endrick, Guler, Brahim, Modric Rudiger, Curtois in the pitch and and you still win 1-0 after the win over City the least we can do as fans is to give credit where the credit is due

Fonseca, if this is what we are to see during the season, the style the game, entrusting youth, you already won me. Keep up the good work, lets hope we het few more options in your roster and let’s continue our solid climb to where we belong

    Forza Milan

  3. If he can coach the bench and Futuro players into a cohesive unit over the summer, I’m excited for what he can do for the starting players.

  4. It’s only pre season but he is doing good things with what he has. Let’s wait until January before we start putting too much praise now shall we?
