Max Allegri has taken on a role as manager at Milan, rather than head coach, and the partnership with Igli Tare has got off to a great start. As a result, the manager is very enthusiastic about the project.
As highlighted by Corriere dello Sport (via MilanNews) this morning, a lot of things have changed since Allegri first joined Milan 15 years ago. Silvio Berlusconi and Adriano Galliani are no longer running the show, instead we are talking about RedBird and Tare.

Many of these changes, however, have taken place just in the last few weeks. Milan are keen on getting back to the top after last season’s failure and have changed their methods completely, now relying a lot on the judgment and input of their head coach…
From head coach to manager
Last season made it painfully clear that Milan need a manager more so than a head coach. If that had been understood from the start, the 2024-25 fiasco could have been avoided, but the important thing is that the Rossoneri have learned from their mistakes.
The u-turn, as such, is not at all surprising and the appointments of Tare and Allegri are just the beginning. The two are working in perfect synergy, so far anyway, and that is exactly what the Rossoneri need to stand a chance.
Furthermore, the work is being carried out at a fast pace so that no time is wasted, with the start of pre-season around the corner. In shirt, Allegri’s involvement in the current Milan is there for all to see, with the clear goal of bringing the club back to where it belongs.
Many friendlies have already been scheduled for the summer and the goal, as said, is to have a few signings in place for these as well.
But Zlatan said we needed a coach not a manager. Hmm 🤔

They haven’t learned a thing from their mistakes. The idea should have been to look at Serie A and focus on Italians. The evidence points to the same approach that got the team into this mess, signing random Eurotrash that have tanked at other clubs or unknowns. As soon as the Reijnders deal was done, Ricci should have been signed. That would be a statement signing. Saying Barteshagi and Zeroli are part of the first team plans would have reinforced the message that things would be different and that they’d learned from their mistakes.
The players that we have been linked to show that Allegri is out of touch. I already have a bad feeling about him.
I think the coach would like to assess the players in training before deciding whom he wants to keep or let go.

No I don’t think so. Part of the challenges we had last season is lack of experience and leadership in the dressing room. Walker was supposed to instill that but he failed.
So the new approach is to bring a mix of experience and leadership proven players like Modric and Xhaka and join them with some younger ones. The choice of Ardon Jashari is a better option than Ricci. As much as we want a more Italian team, it doesn’t mean we won’t buy a perfect player if we have the chance.
What we need is not just Italians, but players that are more familiar with the Seria A as a league, hence the request for Dodo for the RB, Vlahovic, Osimhen, Retagui, Lucca or now Immobile for the attack.
I’m sure we will definitely buy some few more Seria A/Italian players before the transfer market runs out. But so far, I can say that we are moving in the right direction.

Furlani, Ibra and Moncada should have been fired. This club will not make progress with these bozos still playing a role in management.
Milan need some serious restructuring in leadership. A sporting CEO is needed and I don’t understand why Ibra and Moncada still need to be here.
As for Allegri and Tare, I am not convinced by the names we have been linked with and I don’t understand why they are target so many old players who are over the hill.
It would make more sense to sign an experienced CB like Milan Skriniar and pair him with Giovanni Leaoni from Parma.
Pavlovic sucks especially in a back 4. He should be sold along with Tomori not Thiaw.
As for midfield, I don’t understand the obsession with Rabiot, Xhaka, and Modric.
There are numerous talented young players like Rovella, Malik Tillman, Quentin Timber, Fazzini, Weiffer, Bouaddi etc.
PSG dominated an old Inter and the model we should follow is the one at PSG. We need talented young players who are ready for the next level. Not young players we need to develop and not old players who are passed there prime years.
Completely agree. I too would like this club to partially follow PSG model and build strong foundations on a longterm.
But RedBird are not here to build, they’re here to re-sell. Players like Jashari, Bouaddi, Fazzini, Tillman are as good as gone in 2 seasons time if they perform up to their potential. This ownership made it known to other clubs we are selling.
So we should be bothered with whatever nomenclature the head honcho decides he wants to be named? what has changed or what will change. WE want the “liquid contents only”! Leave the packaging and branding to guys who can easily be fooled! What are we doing diffrently?
These guys just have massive PR funding, trying to whitewash their soiled reputation, as if they actually care. Stories of Allegri turning up at casa milan everyday to show his “hard work” & “dedication” amounts to nothing when fake news and decoy information keeps circulating everywhere. Is he not paid to do exactly that? why should we be thankful he does that, aint he paid millions to turn up for work? Can his job be done remotely now? Milan is all motion and no progress. We linked to every player that has ever tickled the fancy of Allegritto, going against the very ” principles” of promoting home grown talent or buying talented youngsters.
Not only should they be working, they should be SEEN to be doing so.

This club isn’t going anywhere under it is sold to an entity with a solid project and a desire to actually win. The best Allegri and Tare will do is stabilize this club a bit and keep it in the status quo – Top4 and CL runs. No actual trophies required.
