AC Milan could now change their approach in their pursuit of a new centre-back as they may now go for a less expensive profile, a report claims.
As reported this morning by Corriere dello Sport (via MilanNews), Sven Botman has decided to join Newcastle United after finally giving in to their strong pressure, with Lille having accepted a bid worth €40m.
Milan had let the player know, through his representatives, that they did not want to give up on signing the Dutchman but he preferred not to wait any longer, perhaps for fear of finding himself without a team ahead of preseason.
Now, Milan are thinking of signing a young defender with a lot of potential to be inserted into the core of Fikayo Tomori, Pierre Kalulu and Simon Kjaer. The most popular names are Malick Thiaw, William Saliba of Arsenal and Arthur Theate of Bologna.
Ridiculous! Something is very wrong when so much time and energy is invested in Botman only to end up with this result.

William Saliba will cost as much as Botman, since he is owned by EPL team and we know how hyperinflated their players prices are.
