CorSport: Bad news for Milan and Chelsea as Napoli refuse to give up on €60m forward

Napoli have not given up on the idea of signing Real Madrid striker and AC Milan target Luka Jovic, according to a report.

The Rossoneri have been persistently linked with a move for Jovic over the past few weeks as they look to give incoming manager Ralf Rangnick a new centre-forward to work with, amid doubts over the future of Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

However, a number of other teams have been credited with interest in the Serbia international, such as Chelsea, Leicester and most recently Hertha Berlin.

According to il Corriere dello Sport on Friday (via MilanLive), Napoli are also in the running to land Jovic, who cost Real Madrid €60m when he arrived from Eintracht Frankfurt a year ago.

The 22-year-old is the profile at the top of Milan’s wish list and contacts with agent Fali Ramadani are continuous, but the main obstacle continues to be his €5m-a-year salary.

Napoli though have the financial resources to close the deal, something they could do if Victor Osimhen’s arrival collapses, while Leicester and Chelsea would also be more than able to stump up the cash required.
