Tommaso Pobega could remain at Bologna beyond this season but according to a report, AC Milan will need to lower their demands in order for that to happen.

Pobega left Milan last summer on a season-long loan with an option to buy at €12m. The 25-year-old made 30 appearances this past season, including 20 minutes in the Coppa Italia final, and bagged seven goal contributions in the process.

According to today’s edition of Corriere dello Sport (via Il Garante), Bologna would like to keep Pobega but they deem the €12m price tag as excessive. As such, it will be necessary for the Rossoblu to sit down with Milan and discuss a discount.

In spite of the disagreements on the price, everything is pointing towards a permanent stay at Bologna for Pobega, as the report concludes. The fact that Vincenzo Italiano, the head coach, looks set to stay most likely plays a big part as well.

It’s possible that the Rossoneri could grant a slight discount, perhaps taking €2m off the price, since they will be making a full capital gain on the player regardless. On the other hand, he’s still relatively young and Italian, so it would be foolish for Milan to give him away for peanuts.
