CorSport: Chelsea defender still high up on Milan’s wish list amid expiring contract

By Isak Möller -

By now, it has become pretty clear that AC Milan will try to sign a centre-back next month. Simon Kjaer’s injury is far from ideal but at least the timing allows the management to intervene on the market.

Many names have been linked with the Rossoneri since Kjaer was stretchered off in the 3-0 win against Genoa. One that seems to be one of the key targets is Andreas Christensen, who know Kjaer well from the national team.

The Chelsea man’s contract will expire at the end of the season and Milan are thus following his situation with extra interest, per Corriere Dello Sport (via MilanNews). The Stamford Bridge side, of course, are doing everything to renew his deal.

Milan need someone to cover for Kjaer and Christensen is the perfect profile, also for the future of the club. Without a renewal, he could perhaps be sold for a lower price or, alternatively, the Rossoneri will move for him in the summer.
