CorSport: Chukwueze, Guler and Nelson – the latest on Milan’s attacking targets

By Isak Möller -

AC Milan are looking to reinforce the attacking trio for next season and one of their priorities appears to be the right flank. The Rossoneri have a few options for that role, a report claims.

Brahim Diaz has officially left the club, returning to Real Madrid, and Junior Messias is also expected to depart. Therefore, Milan will need a new right-winger for next season and they have several names on their wish list.

According to today’s edition of Corriere Dello Sport (via MilanNews), the two main targets are Reiss Nelson and Samuel Chukwueze. Nelson is yet to renew his contract with Arsenal, who have offered €3.5m per year, and Milan have come forward with a contract wort €2.8m per year.

At Milan, Nelson would get a lot more playing time and that could perhaps play in the Rossoneri’s favour. As for Chukwueze, Villarreal could settle for a transfer fee of around €25m and this is not impossible for Milan.

Finally, Arda Guler has also been linked with the club but his €17.5m release clause could pose an issue, while his agents will also ask for a lot in commission since the competition is fierce.

  1. Milan won scudetto last year, this year finished 4th and reached semifinals on UCL they got at least 100 mil only from UCL and yet the transfer budget is 30 mil and we can’t afford to buy a player with 25 mil. This clown called Cardinale just wants to milk the club for money it’s sad

    1. 100% true. Jerrys ambition for ACM is profit.

The economic out from ending 4th and wining Serie A and is minimal. In contrast it takes more investments to win the league, why Jerry aims for 4th and CL qualification.

      1. He is here to make profit and that is it …. I don’t think we are going to win any trophies as long he is here. Sadly Milan were unlucky to get in hands of this clown instead of some arabs billionaires

        1. Furlani’s goal is to make it balanced, no loss, no profit. At 2022/2023, Milan manage to gain slight profit but it’s with UCL Semifinal appearance, without it, it would be a loss.

We renew contract a lot last year so the salary increase. Transfer and salary budget are tied, more salary = less transfer budget.

        2. And if you are talking about investcorp, they are not arab billionaires. They don’t have enough money for the takeover, they plan on using 400m bank loan and put it as Milan’s debt which means Milan would pay the loan.

          1. Well it Would have been better than 600M in debt at 7% interest and still have Elliott as owners, wage caps, 30M transfer budget, and cap of 30M (salary included) on what we could spend on any player…LOL

And to say Investcorp has no $$ is grossly inaccurate lol

Anyways it didn’t happen because Elliot wanted to keep a large minority (30%) shares of the club with seats on the board to ensure we adopt the Atalanta model. Profit not titles.

            Mission accomplished

Next step: sell our talent (Leao) to fund a few transfers and keep the rest of the cash…PROFIT

          2. Nope, you are wrong, the 600m debt is not club debt, our debt is almost zero right now. As the 600m is vendor loan, it is counted as Redbird’s debt, if Redbird fail to pay, half of Milan share they have will return to Elliot.

Investcorp on the other hand plan to use 400m bank loan which is added as club debt.

      2. Milan got at least 180-200 mil for the last season so he doesn’t even needs to bring his own money and yet he isn’t willing to improve the team . I say this says all about his ambition

        1. I guess when you receive your salary, you dont pay for electricity, rent, food, etc. You spend it all on entertainment

          1. Go do some research, inter, juve even Napoli have higher salaries than us. milan spent 80 mil per year with salaries, Inter 120 Juve even more… so you earn around 200 per season and still have 70-80 mil left maybe even more. Without investment there is no performance in football

    2. Do you even know anything about money? The club has income, and also expenses.. like paying for renting the San Siro, paying the players, staff, paying debt etc..
Even with all the money from UCL and Serie A, the club finished with15-20million profit.

    3. Milan made 246ml all and all last year 86ml of it goes to players s salary all other remaining money goes to cardinale and his shareholders

      1. That’s what I said too but I guess the kid didn’t do any research… inter have 120 mil salaries, they will milk the club as much as possible then sell it

  2. And is 25M is too much for a club like Milan to spend on a starting player – we are done lol.

    Profit not titles = Redbird

  3. “Nelson is yet to renew his contract with Arsenal, who have offered €3.5m per year, and Milan have come forward with a contract wort €2.8m per year.”
Shouldn’t this be the other way around? Shouldn’t we be offering more, why would he come here for less?

    1. Maybe because he doesn’t play and we would give him more playing time? I don’t like him at all and truly hope a move doesn’t happen, he isn’t at the level of the other neither has the same experience.
