CorSport: ‘Final assault’ ready – Milan hope to land €35m duo this week

We are now a few days into the final month of the summer transfer window, and AC Milan are hoping this week will provide accelerations on two fronts.

The idea of the management will be to have as many of the pieces in place by 20:45 on Saturday 17 August, when Milan will begin their league campaign at San Siro against Torino.

Corriere dello Sport (via MilanNews) report this morning that we are in the midst of a ‘decisive week’ for two signings that the Rossoneri have long sought: full-back Emerson Royal and midfielder Youssouf Fofana. They also state that the ‘final assault’ is being readied.

The Tottenham man is currently the closest to joining: the two clubs are very close to an agreement with Milan, who will put on the table around €15m as a fixed fee, to which around €2m in bonuses will be added. It is no coincidence that Spurs are already looking for a replacement.

For Fofana, on the other hand, the Milan directors must exercise maximum patience. They are betting strongly on the Frenchman’s will and also the fact that his contract is expiring in less than 11 months.

As time passes, Geoffrey Moncado and co. know that the Ligue 1 club will think more and more about accepting their offer of just less than €20m, in order to at least raise some funds.

  1. over 2.5 weeks left for CM and ST afterwards. maybe offer Adli + 15M for J.David? Lille always liked raw talents and they kinda owe us for Leao fiasco

    1. Emerson takes the second noneu spot. So david is out of question thank cthulhu. Or any noneu player outside of serie A.
If I gotta do a bitter pill I rather it be that shîty rb than flopvid. At least the shîty rb has a sliver of a chance in being useful

  2. We need at DM so badly that it is outrageous we haven’t signed one yet. I really believe it is crucial for how the season will go.

And just for trolls here; nowhere above have I argued that we should pay 35 million euro for Forfana. Just for the record.

    1. Neves is about to sign for PSG, which will lead Ugarte to join Man Untd. Atletico also agreed fee both with Chelsea and Gallagher, so Fofana is really not a target for anyone anymore.

Inter doesn’t need him, Juve also, Arsenal signing Merino, City stacked, so are Liverpool, Barca, Real,… he made it a fact that he won’t join 2nd rate teams like West Ham.

Monaco either are 2yo kids and will still push for 35M or by the end of the week we will sing him for 17-18M plus 2-3M in bonuses.

    2. Fair enough. Veiga and Hojberg were signed for reasonable fees. It does seem as though the plan was Fofana or bust, or Fofana or some rando at the last moment who won’t be what we really need.

  3. I don’t know why you keep insisting on Emerson Royal. A right back that is bad! And soon as you get him, you give him 5 years. Then selling him becomes a problem. What a shame! Leave fofona and go for Kone! Kone is better. Try and watch him how he marshall France midfield in the ongoing Olympics. Please Milan leave Royal alone
