CorSport: Former Milan man El Shaarawy could return on a free transfer – the situation

By Isak Möller -

Milan have always made it very clear that they will act on the market, but only if there are opportunities. With regards to the attacking department, which isn’t a priority, it seems there could be an opportunity.

According to Corriere Dello Sport (via MilanLive), a former player could perhaps make a return, namely Stephan El Shaarawy. The 28-year-old wants to leave Shanghai Shenhua and his brother-agent is expected in China to negotiate a termination.

Is he’s successful, then his brother will be a free agent. Milan and Paolo Maldini are observing the situation, although the would need a different profile for the attack. As it’s a low-cost opportunity, though, you never know.

That being said, Roma are in pole position to take the winger back and there could also be other offers, provided that he can terminate his deal in China. It remains to be seen if Milan will pounce on the opportunity if so.
