French striker Olivier Giroud could still decide to sign a new contract with the Rossoneri but the club want to know what the situation is as it affects the summer transfer window planning.
It has been reported by Corriere dello Sport (via Pianeta Milan) that Giroud is undecided between a new deal with Milan and a move to MLS.
He is making a careful choice with his family in mind and there is clear interest from the United States of America, with Los Angeles FC making contact to try and secure the former Arsenal and Chelsea man.
That deal is not over the line, and that is partly because Giroud is not completely sold on the idea yet. He is out of contract at the end of this season and if he were to sign a new deal, it would almost certainly be for one year on the same terms as he is on right now.
That would be a simple negotiation, but Giroud’s decision has a huge impact on Milan’s summer transfer window plans.
Giroud’s wages being off the books would influence which strikers Milan can pursue to replace him. They may sign two strikers which makes the wage bill even more important.
