It has been nearly two weeks since Gerry Cardinale cleaned house at AC Milan, but as highlighted by a report, he is still taking his time with the replacements.
The Champions League failure was the final nail in the coffin for Massimiliano Allegri, Igli Tare, Geoffrey Moncada and Giorgio Furlani. They were all sacked the day after the defeat against Cagliari, which was nearly two weeks ago.

As highlighted by Corriere dello Sport this morning (via MilanNews), while it initially seemed the process of appointing replacements would be swift, there are still no concrete updates. Instead, Cardinale is taking his time with the matter.
Two leading candidates
In addition to taking his time, the Milan owner has also remained in Europe during the process, knowing just how important these decisions are for the club’s future. In the process, he is also being supported by Massimo Calvelli and Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
The position that Cardinale wants to sort first is the head coach, perhaps at the same time as the sporting director. There are currently two leading candidates: Oliver Glasner and Mauricio Pochettino, who both have been in touch with the Rossoneri.
Glasner had a six-hour meeting with the club that was very positive, but certain guarantees are needed in terms of the budget and the project as a whole. As such, he could arrive even without Ralf Rangnick, who is the leading candidate to become the technical director.
Pochettino, meanwhile, would only be available after the World Cup with the United States. Contacts have also been held with Ramon Planes and Johannes Spors for the sporting director role. That said, nothing has been decided yet.
Why is he taking his time? 2023: 5th place, 2024: 2nd place, 2025: 8th place, 2026: 5th place. Four years of pure garbage and embarrassing things and only one (the least important by far) trophy, what is he still waiting for? Isn’t it time to finally step up and take action? Glasner is one of the few coaches that uses 3 men defense successfully.
Our team needs tweaks not revolutions. Comotto, Zeroli/Cisse, Camarda in. RLC, Estupinan, Odogu, Leao, Fulkrug out. 40M + extra 80M from the sales, that’s 120M to spend on only 5 players.
FuLLkrug isn’t our player, why do you perceive him as one/such? Tomori, Nkunku and especially! Santi- we should sell them as well.

those players should get 1 more year or even half a season. too many revolutions is bad for the team. Tomori as 5th choice CB isn’t bad, Nkunku and Santi for depth.
3-4-2-1 squad , where back 3 and fullbacks are same, just upgrade on Odogu and Estupinan. like it or not, before we lost our $hit, we were solid back there.
Mateta, Brahim Diaz and another CAM as upgrades for Fulkrug, RLC, and a replacement for Leao. with shifting to double-pivot midfield, Modric replacement can be Comotto, while Zeroli/Cisse 5th choice for depth in CAMs and Camarda 3rd choice ST.
with Europa and Coppa Italia, Futuros will have enough playing time and Glasner is perfect for developing youngsters.
P.P.S. If you switch to 3-4-2-1 and/but want to bring a new MC at the same time, who would
you sell along with Loftus (now I’m referring to midfielders solely), maybe you forgot someone earlier…
