CorSport: Ibrahimovic willing to renew AC Milan contract on one condition

Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s future is yet to be decided. Following a successful first three months with AC Milan, everything has now been put on hold due to the Coronavirus. Meanwhile, reports of a departure are gathering steam.

According to today’s edition of Corriere Dello Sport (via Milanlive.it), the 38-year-old is willing to renew his six-month deal on one condition. In short, it will all depend on the transfer strategy that Elliott have planned for the Rossoneri.

Ibrahimovic would like to conclude his long career in the best way possible, and bringing Milan back to the Champions League would be one way to do it. In many ways, it would be perfect, with the Swede bringing them back after so many years.

However, it won’t be possible to achieve this with the current team. Therefore, the transfer market will be decisive for Ibrahimovic’s decision, as it will mean more than the salary offered to the striker, per the newspaper.

After the farewell of Zvone Boban, who was a reference point for Ibrahimovic, CEO Ivan Gazidis will have to be skilled and convincing in building a relationship with the Swede. Of course, it will be an uphill start, as a renewal remains difficult.
