CorSport: Italiano ready to change Fiorentina’s formation for Milan game

By Oliver Fisher -

Fiorentina boss Vincenzo Italiano has been doing some work during the international break on formations and there could be a change as early as the game against AC Milan, a report claims.

La Viola have played with a 4-2-3-1 system for virtually the entire season to this point, but this morning’s edition of Corriere dello Sport (via Calciomercato.com) has an interesting indiscretion regarding the work Italiano did during the international break.

According to the newspaper, the coach is ready to try a change of formation which involves the coexistence of the two attackers Lucas Beltran and M’Bala Nzola. Fiorentina should therefore line up with the 4-3-2-1, the so-called Christmas tree.

It is a formation that includes only Nzola as a centre-forward though, with Beltran and Nico Gonzalez to act next to him no longer as wingers but as attacking midfielders to exploit the space that opens up.

It is a solution that could be used on Saturday when Fiorentina face off against Milan at San Siro, looking to pull level on points with the Rossoneri which they would do with a win.
