AC Milan will take on Lazio this Sunday but sadly, they will have to do without their star Adrien Rabiot. Subsequently, Massimiliano Allegri has a battle to decide in midfield.
Milan are still beaming from their win in the Derby della Madonnina on Sunday, but they need to come back down to earth in a few days. Indeed, Lazio are up next away from home and it’s a fixture that has been very even in recent years.
The bad news is that Rabiot will miss out due to the yellow card accumulation. He was on four yellow cards before the derby and was booked in the second half, taking his tally up to five points. It’s not ideal to be without him, but at least his accumulation will now be reset.
The usual battle
According to today’s edition of Corriere dello Sport, as cited by MilanNews, Allegri has two players in mind to replace the Frenchman: Ardon Jashari or Samuele Ricci. The latter is currently ahead in the race, having also come off the bench against Inter, but things could change in the next few days.
Youssouf Fofana and Luka Modric, meanwhile, are certain to remain in the midfield trio after impressing lately. The Croatian has impressed all season, really, so maybe that applies more to the Frenchman who got the assist against Inter.
One thing worth noting is that Jashari started the Coppa Italia game against Lazio in December (1-0 defeat), which may or may not play in his favour here.
