According to Corriere dello Sport (via PianetaMilan), Milan will be without the injured Rafael Leao and the suspended Olivier Giroud for the game against La Viola next weekend and that means there is a need to find goals from other sources.
Jovic has been promoted to a probable starter against Fiorentina given the selection issues in attack, and he will meet his former team again. The Serbian and Samuel Chukwueze are the only players in Pioli’s attack who have not yet scored a goal.
Jovic played with Fiorentina last season and scored 13 goals across all competitions but with Milan he is stuck on zero and has only made two starts, the last of which came during the victory against Genoa.
During Fiorentina-Milan last March, Jovic scored against the Rossoneri and the paper remarks that it is now time for him to ‘return the favour’.
