CorSport: Kalulu has made up for Kjaer’s absence – Milan’s defence is rock solid

By Isak Möller -

AC Milan have won the last three games by a scoreline of 1-0 and they have their defence to thank for that. While the attack has been far from perfect, with chances missed, the defence has been impeccable.

In spite of the absence of Simon Kjaer, who was a key player before his injury, the Rossoneri have managed to perform really well at the back. As stated by Corriere Dello Sport (via MilanNews), Pierre Kalulu is a big reason behind that.

Called upon when Alessio Romagnoli got injured in the derby, he hasn’t missed a beat since and the captain has lost his starting spot to the youngster. Yesterday’s draw was yet another example of the great partnership Kalulu and Fikayo Tomori have together.

It remains to be seen if one of them will get some rest soon, but there are just eight games left of the Serie A season. They also have at least one game left to play in the Coppa Italia, though.
