CorSport: Kjaer has two missions in Milan’s Serie A season finale

By Nikita Fesyukov -

Simon Kjaer arrived at AC Milan during the January transfer market on loan from Sevilla and has since then been a very reliable option in the defence for Stefano Pioli. After Serie A’s forced stop, the Danish international now has two principal missions for the season finale.

As reported by Corriere dello Sport (via milanlive.it), the first mission is to obtain confirmation in the Milan of the future. Kjaer will have to take advantage of his almost certain starting position, also considering Musacchiop’s injury, to demonstrate that he deserves his place in the team also in view of next season.

The Rossoneri have already probed the ground with Sevilla to redeem the player outright. There is talk of a figure around 2.5 million euros to retain the Dane.

The other mission concerns the on-the-field issues. Kjaer wants to help Milan return to Europe with his experience from the Champions League and Europa League as well as international experience.

These two goals can go hand in hand. If Kjaer proved to be solid and reliable and will help Milan conquer a European position, it will be difficult not to think of a confirmation in the squad for next season. Although much will also depend on the opinion of the likely new manager Ralf Rangnick.
