CorSport: Krunic’s January sale could provide Milan with spending power next month

By Euan Burns -

The potential sale of Rade Krunic in the January transfer window will allow AC Milan to have some spending power as they search for a new defender next month, a report claims.

As has been reported by Corriere dello Sport (via Milan News), the Bosnian midfielder is getting closer and closer to leaving the club.

Fenerbahce have reignited their interest and they are willing to pay him double what he currently earns with the Rossoneri.

The other factor pushing him towards the exit door is that he is not as regular a starter for the Rossoneri now as he was at the back end of the 2022/23 season.

The club would like to gain €6-7 million from his sale and that money could be used immediately on a new central defender given Milan are light in that area and have a number of players out injured.

There is also the potential to sign a new striker in January but that is less of an urgent matter.

    1. Milan doesn’t have to sell players to buy new players. But if a contract renewal is dragging on like in the case of Mike Maignan then we should sell him and reinvest the money into strengthening the squad.

Milan cannot afford to allow players to run down their contract like we did with Calhanoglu, donnarumma and Kessie.

Milan will get at minimum 70m to Maignan which is good for an injury prone player.

      1. That’s not what he’s implying. Its the strength of the owners having said buying power instead of only relying on the team
