CorSport: Laxalt rejects offer from Atalanta; the details

As reported by today’s edition of Corriere Dello Sport, Diego Laxalt has rejected Atalanta’s first contract proposal, after the Bergamo side reached an agreement with Milan.

The two clubs have already reached an agreement for the player: a €1m loan with a buy-out clause set at €11m, which would become an obligation if certain conditions are me during the course of the season.

For the upcoming season, during the loan period, Atalanta offered Laxalt €1.7m per year, which is what he currently earns at Milan. However, if the clause is exercised, then the Uruguayan would earn less.

According to the report, the Bergamo side offered the player €1.3m on a four-year deal, should they decide to sign him permanently after this season. Therefore, Laxalt is asking Milan to fill the gap, which seems unlikely.

Therefore, the negotiations are currently on hold until further notice. As both parties want to close the deal, they might be able to find a compromise that can unlock the contract talks.
