President Claudio Lotito wants to give the Lazio fans a big signing and has turned his attention to Alessio Romagnoli, the AC Milan captain. The defender, in fact, has been a fan of the Biancocelesti since he was a kid.
Romagnoli is one of the Rossoneri’s key player, being the captain and a regular starter. However, his future with the club is very uncertain, as CEO Ivan Gazidis is looking to lower the wage bill while the 25-year-old wants a pay rise.
According to today’s edition of Corriere Dello Sport (via Milanlive.it), Lazio dream of the potential signing and have already initiated contacts with the player’s agent. Once the situation is more clear at Milan, they will be informed by the agent.
Romagnoli grew up in the academy of Roma, but he has always been a fan of the city rivals Lazio. When he scored the decisive penalty against the latter in the Coppa Italia, back in 2018, he didn’t even celebrate.
That said, it wouldn’t be a cheap operation for the Biancocelesti, who are normally very careful when it comes to spending. Per the report, therefore, an investment would only be made in the event of a big sale.
