Mike Maignan could decide to push for a transfer this summer, according to a report, as he wants to compete at the highest level.
After a lot of back and forth, Maignan agreed to stay at Milan for the 2025-26 season, convinced by the project that Massimiliano Allegri and Igli Tare put on the table. And at the end of January, the goalkeeper renewed his contract until 2031.

However, that doesn’t mean that he will remain until then. After a disappointing end to the season, it’s more than logical for the 30-year-old to assess his options, especially since he performed at a very high level.
Maignan to ponder
According to Corriere dello Sport this morning (via MilanNews), Maignan is certainly one of the Milan players who could have a look around this summer. A lot will obviously depend on the new management, but the thoughts of an exit may arise before then.
Maignan will be the starting goalkeeper for France at the World Cup, so it’s possible that he could attract more interest with a strong tournament. In that case, Milan might have some offers to assess, and perhaps even a willingness from the Frenchman to leave.
On the other hand, his message the other day maybe suggests he wants to help Milan ‘rise again’, unless he means the club will do so without him.

Rightly so. Mike needs to move on to win something at a well run club. While we look at a massive exodus of anyone worth a damn and an empty stadium next season.
