CorSport: Maldini ready to pounce if €40m forward pushes to leave Chelsea

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan could try and pounce on the opportunity to land Hakim Ziyech from Chelsea on a loan deal, according to a report.

Chelsea paid a big fee for Ziyech – €40m according to most sources – and there was a lot of excitement surrounding the arrival of the forward from Ajax, but he amassed just four goals in 33 appearances across the Premier League and Champions League.

This morning’s edition of il Corriere dello Sport (via MilanNews) writes that after the European Championship, many teams will have to sell redundant players, especially if they are looking to fund any big additions as Chelsea are.

Milan could seize some opportunities such as Ziyech of Chelsea. Relations between the two clubs are good and the attacking midfielder is very much admired by the Rossoneri management, and while the costs of the operation are high, there could be an opening at the end of August. Moreover, if the Moroccan were to push to leave, Maldini and Massara would be ready to try and secure him on loan.
