CorSport: Man Utd defender could make Milan debut vs. Inter – management eye permanent deal

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan boss Stefano Pioli could give on-loan defender Diogo Dalot his debut in the derby on Saturday, a report claims.

According to il Corriere dello Sport (via MilanLive), the Portuguese full-back – who arrived from Manchester United on a dry loan towards the end of the summer window – could make an impact off the bench in the second half of the game against Inter at the weekend, or even earlier should there be injury problems.

Davide Calabria is still the strong favourite to get the nod at right-back in the starting XI having had an excellent start to the season, but there will be room for Dalot.

The 21-year-old is considered a versatile player capable of creating unpredictability on both sides of the defence, given his ability to play as an inverted full-back on the left. Milan will thus begin to evaluate him closely and are already thinking about starting talks with United over signing him permanently.

Dalot is a real obsession of the management, so much so that they are pushing for him to arrive at all costs.
