Mario Mandzukic is almost certain to get his first start in a Milan shirt tomorrow evening as the Rossoneri face Red Star, a report claims.
In today’s edition of il Corriere dello Sport (via MilanLive), Mandzukic is up to speed enough to get the nod in the starting XI for the first time ahead of the Round of 32 first leg clash in Belgrade, during which the team will have to show that they have recovered from the defeat against Spezia.
The paper goes on to add that Mandzukic has another goal in his mind as qualification for the next Champions League would mean the automatic renewal of his contract for next season. The Croatian striker will have to and wants to repay the trust of the Rossoneri management, and he wants to demonstrate too that he has shaken off the rust he had on arrival.
Mario has extensive experience in European competitions and he won the Champions League with Bayern Munich in 2013, so tomorrow is an excellent chance to get back into the flow of things.
