CorSport: Messias could unlock Zaniolo deal – Mourinho is an admirer

AC Milan could try to include Junior Messias in a deal for Nicolo Zaniolo to lower the cash sum needed, according to a report.

Today’s edition of Corriere dello Sport (via PianetaMilan) reports that Milan feel they can relaunch Zaniolo having admired him for years now. An agreement over personal terms has been practically closed over a deal until 2026, so there is pressure being put on.

However, Roma director Tiago Pinto remains adamant that he will not let Zaniolo leave without the loan deal having an obligation to buy, and not one subject to qualifying for the next Champions League as Milan are offering currently.

The two clubs have entrusted Zaniolo’s agent Vigorelli with the task of helping them find a meeting point, but it is worth noting that Roma were happy accept the amount that Tottenham had put forward last week which was €25m plus €5m in bonuses, from which a 15% sell-on is owed to Inter.

Milan have offered €3m for the loan fee plus €15m to make it. a permanent deal, but there is the stumbling block of the formula to overcome, but Roma’s owners the Friedkins plan to collect €70m in capital gains as soon as possible.

There could also be an exchange of loans whereby Junior Messias joins Roma, as per the report. He is a player that Jose Mourinho likes, so he could become an important key to unlock the issue.
