CorSport: Milan admirers of Aston Villa striker but two obstacles exist

By Oliver Fisher -

One of the strikers that AC Milan are looking into as a potential signing to join Alvaro Morata is Jhon Duran of Aston Villa, but it seems like it will be an uphill road.

According to Corriere dello Sport (via PianetaMilan), the management are not just evaluating Niclas Füllkrug of Borussia Dortmund, Tammy Abraham of Roma and the free agent Memphis Depay but also Durán.

The 20-year-old is currently at Aston Villa and was already monitored by the Rossoneri during the most recent January transfer window. However, his asking price at the moment is high and that reduces the chances of him arriving.

Duran took part in the recent edition of the Copa América with his country and Villa want over €30m to sell him, even if he does wish to leave the club to get more consistent playing time given he is behind Ollie Watkins in the pecking order.

He scored eight goals in 37 games last season, but in just 1,103 minutes of play. It is possible that he will end up staying in the Premier League and moving to another club in claret and blue, because West Ham United are keen on landing the former Chicago Fire forward.

  1. Tow obstacles:

    1. Money
    2. Milan’s unwillingness to part with even a small part of the obstacle previously mentioned.
