CorSport: Milan among the clubs that want to ‘freeze’ the Serie A standings

By Isak Möller -

Due the Coronavirus emergency, sports has been brought to a halt for an indefinite period. It would be impossible to resume the league for the time being and it remains to be seen when we will see the clubs in action again.

In fact, as today’s edition of Corriere Della Sera highlights (via MilanNews.it), the discussion between the clubs and the league is no longer when the league will resume, but rather if it will or not.

There are now three fronts within the league: those who want to resume (Lazio, Napoli, Rome, Sassuolo, Cagliari), those who are keen on ‘freezing’ the current standings (Milan, Inter, Samp, Genoa, Brescia), and those who have more moderate positions.

In any case, it won’t be up to the league to decide whether to start again or not, but rather the government first, and then the FIGC. Of course, everything will depend on the Coronavirus emergency, which hopefully will calm down.
