AC Milan are in the market for a new centre-back and they have once again been linked with Fiorentina’s Nikola Milenkovic.
With Alessio Romagnoli currently set to depart on a free transfer when his contract expires at the end of next month and the possibility that Matteo Gabbia could be sent out on loan, the Rossoneri are working to make sure they are numerically sound in the centre-back role going into 2022-23.
According to Corriere dello Sport (via MilanNews), Milan have joined their city rivals Inter in being admirers of Milenkovic. Head coach Stefano Pioli knows him very well having worked with him at Fiorentina, but Rocco Commisso’s club will not let him go easily.
In fact, the paper claims that – despite the fact his contract is expiring in a year – La Viola will ask for at least €20m in order to sell the Serbia international this summer.
