CorSport: Milan eye expensive duo to reinforce key departments in the summer

It ended up being a rather quiet January window for AC Milan, despite whispers of a few signings, and this suggests more will happen in the summer. Indeed, as a report claims, the Rossoneri have set their sights on two players in particular.

The defensive department has been a big problem for Milan this season, with the starting trio of Pierre Kalulu, Malict Thiaw and Fikayo Tomori currently injured. And after trying in January, it seems the centre-back signing has been postponed until the summer.

As reported by today’s edition of Corriere dello Sport (via MilanNews), Milan are especially keen on signing a centre-back and a striker in the summer. Alessandro Buongiorno is the primary target for the former role, but the main obstacle is the €40m demand by Torino.

Giorgio Furlani and Geoffrey Moncada are willing to invest, though, so perhaps there is scope for a deal with Il Toro. As for the No.9 role, Benjamin Sesko has ended up at the top of the wish list and he has a release value of €50m at Leipzig. Milan, however, don’t want to spend more than €40m.

The competition promises to be fierce for the 20-year-old, but Milan will surely make an attempt in the summer. There is more than one target on their list for that position as well, and an investment will most certainly be made.
