CorSport: Milan want to launch final attempt for €20-25m Monchengladbach star

AC Milan are expected to make one more attempt to sign Manu Kone from Borussia Monchengladbach before the transfer window closes, according to a report.

This morning’s edition of Corriere dello Sport (via MilanNews) writes how metaphor of Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s creation is stuck at day six of seven, which is why at least one more signing is being sought by the management.

However, the directors intend to thin out Fonseca’s squad a little, with Ismael Bennacer and Alexis Saelemaekers candidates to leave Milanello together with Yacine Adli, who is about to become a new Fiorentina player.

With the exits sorted out, Milan could study who to go for in the closing stages of the window, but the paper states that the arrival of another striker is not expected because Ibrahimovic has already declared that he does not want to block the path of young talents like Francesco Camarda.

What is more likely is that the directors will try to complete a midfield department that at the moment has more doubts than certainties. Kone of Monchengladbach is the main target, and he is expected to depart the Bundesliga club for a figure of between €20-25m, having expressed a will to leave.

  1. We can’t sell Saelemakers and Bennacer. Vos doesn’t take international spot due to being u21. I would rather sell Jovic and RLC if needed.

Also including Koné and RLC we would still have 2 spots left.

    1. Adrian Bernabe is so good.
So technical, so smart, not blessed with athleticism but he makes up for that with his great positioning, ability to read the game and can make almost every pass.
He is literally what delusional Milan fans imagine Bennacer to be.
      Sell Bennacer and buy Bernabe.

        1. He is great player he can play so many different places he is far better player than bennacer in everything from defensive to offensive

      1. Have you followed him before the last game? Because I didn’t even know his game up until then.

My guess is there’s probably a reason he’s at Parma and not Top Flight.

      2. So technical, so smart, so short. No thanks. Why on Earth would be sign a midget that would block Liberali or players from Futuro?

  2. Ibra saying he won’t buy a striker because he doesn’t want to block the path of a 16 year old who hasn’t played more than five games as a professional is a poor excuse to cover someone’s ass on top of him. They don’t want to pay the price required to acquire a player worth his weight in gold. A 3 to 4 year contract for a good striker won’t prevent Camarda’s growth, it can only enhance it as he will develop in a winning environment with less pressure. The nonsense they say to justify not wanting to spend where investment is needed but most costly…I swear.

    1. There aren’t any great strikers available for less than €70 million, so of course they’re not going to pay that and scoring goals wasn’t a problem, it’s the defence that’s the problem.

  3. We really don’t need anymore foreigners, we need some Italians who know what it means to play for Milan, we are in this mess partly because we have a team of imports who have no passion for the shirt. Sick of it.

    1. Completely agree with Fredo!! This is truly becoming a disturbing disaster! What a disgrace with no Italians on this team. I control my manager mode on Fifa in playstation with more than 75 % of italians on my team…at least this gives me some sort of satisfaction as a Milan fan right now.
This ownership is destroying the Milan club!

      1. We were late for Retegui and Scamacca is injured. Ricci and Locatelli were the best options but the latter bounced back and Motta is not a fool to let him go now. Kayode/Bellanova would have been better signing than Emerson. Other than these options who should be have gone for?

There aren’t many good Italians on the market.

        1. There are pleanty good Italians on the market. Its just that this management don’t want to get them. Juve had 6 Italians in their starting line up yesterday and they dominated. We could have got Calafiori for 5mil, Retegui was offered for 16mil, Scamacca for 20 something, Chiesa is avaliable now for 10mil… Then we could have kept Tonali who was giving everything for the jersey instead of replacing him with mediocore mids. Ricci was also avaliable for 8mil some year ago when i said buy him…

          1. You are talking about past mercatos, I’m talking right now. Besides, Juve had them from their academy… Gatti, Miretti, Rovella, Fagioli, Savona all came from academy and Locatelli and Cambiasso were purchased, latter before becoming high value.

Gabbia and Pobega didn’t work out, so did Colombo. Zeroli, Liberalli, Camarda are too raw, so are Bartesaghi, Magni, Sia, Scottil.

            Bad comparison.

    1. Didn’t the experts on this site say “modern football is all about running”? “Passing and vision” is overly overrated, right?

  4. Do we have any midfielders left who can actually be a playmaker and distribute the ball?

Also, why are we not investing in a 10 if we are going to continue with a 4231 and Pulisic at the RW?

    1. Cause they are cheap. They wanted Samardzic but they also didn’t want to pay his price so in the end he went in Atalanta and we are left with Loftus who is not even close to a 10.

  5. we need new owners and kone isnt good enough for ac milan we are right now battling for serie a we need good players not avarage players

  6. You would think after reading some of these threads that this is a Milan bashing site.

So much faith in the project. So must backing of the club and players brought in.

As if before Americans took over, the fandom here bas behind EVERY SINGLE decision made by the club. LOL!!!
