CorSport: Milan remain firm on €150m clause as Leao shines at the World Cup

Rafael Leao scored a goal on his World Cup debut and thus fueled the transfer rumours that have been circulating lately. The renewal with AC Milan is complicated, but the Rossoneri remain firm on the price tag.

Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara are working hard on the renewal but the failure to reach an agreement before the World Cup obviously wasn’t ideal. The tournament, as such, could determine a lot when it comes to Leao’s future.

As reported by Corriere Dello Sport (via MilanNews), Milan know that a good tournament could attract a lot of interest. At the same time, they will remain firm on the price tag at least until the summer, always referring to the €150m release clause.

Milan are willing to go beyond €6m per year for Leao but it’s also clear that the player will have to show a willingness to stay. If an agreement hasn’t been reached before the summer, as the newspaper concludes, then the Rossoneri will be forced to sell and perhaps not for as much as €150m.
