CorSport: Milan persisting with pursuit of Stuttgart star – the paradoxical obstacle

AC Milan are looking to sign a new striker when the transfer window reopens and they are persisting with their attempts to land Serhou Guirassy, according to a report.

This morning’s edition of Corriere dello Sport (via PianetaMilan) writes how Milan are pushing to try and sign Guirassy in January, the centre-forward who is having an incredible season given he has amassed 19 goals and two assists in 16 matches across the Bundesliga and the DFB-Pokal.

The paper claims that, paradoxically, the biggest obstacle is convincing the player to move because he is enjoying a golden season in Germany and does not want to interrupt it halfway.

Alexander Wehrle, the CEO of Stuttgart, also dampened Milan’s enthusiasm regarding the possible arrival of Guirassy in the January transfer market during an interview with Bild in which he spoke on his future.

“Here he feels comfortable with his family and has an important role in the team. He really appreciates it,” he said.

“He is first and foremost interested in playing football and scoring goals. Guirassy wants to play in a team that works. In the discussions and chats we have, he emphasises several times that he feels very comfortable at Stuttgart. Will he stay? At the moment I don’t see any other signs.”
