CorSport: Milan have two targets for midfield position but only one will arrive

By Isak Möller -

Milan have already secured the arrival of Sandro Tonali but would like to reinforce the midfield with one more player this summer. That is because three midfielders might not be enough, especially due to one reason.

Sure, Ismael Bennacer and Franck Kessie are expected to play most of the games from start. However, they will miss a few games due to the AFCONs, which will take place at the beginning of next year.

As things stand, therefore, Milan would have to play with Tonali and perhaps Rade Krunic in the midfield tandem. According to Corriere Dello Sport (via MilanNews), the Rossoneri have two players in mind for the role but only one will arrive.

The players in question are Tiemoue Bakayoko and Boubacar Kamara. The latter is eager to leave Chelsea and return to Milan, while the Marseille man’s contract will expire in 2022. We just have to wait and see who the Rossoneri prefer.

  1. Should this even be a debate? Assuming Kamara wants to play for Milan he is the obvious choice. Younger, bigger faster, more upside, can play both CB and DM and has a market value of 35-40M already. Bakayoko is older with zero upside and a declining market value and declining skill set and a higher salary. This is a no brainer. Sign Kamara and he will be a Pilar at Milan.
