CorSport: Milan identify replacement as Sevilla want to sign winger – the situation

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are thinking of letting Samu Castillejo leave the club and have already picked out his possible replacement, a report claims.

Castillejo seized a spot in the starting XI earlier in the year when Suso left but has since lost that spot to Alexis Saelemaekers and is really struggling for form.

According to Friday’s edition of il Corriere dello Sport (via MilanLive), Castillejo has admirers in Spain and funnily enough it is Suso’s team Sevilla that seem to be the most interested team at the moment.

Areturn to LaLiga could be the ideal solution if he his told he is no longer needed at Milan, while directors Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara have a clear name in mind to replace him already: Florian Thauvin.

The 27-year-old French winger is currently with Marseille but his contract is set to expire in June 2021 and he does not intend to renew. Milan are big admirers for the player, but his first request for a salary of €5m per year net has scared the management a little.

They hope that Thauvin’s entourage will lower their claims, as the former Newcastle United man would be an ideal reinforcement for Stefano Pioli’s team, with experience and quality.
