AC Milan are not making any real ground in negotiations with Hakan Calhanoglu over a renewal so they are beginning to look at replacements.
According to Monday’s edition of il Corriere dello Sport (via MilanNews), the Rossoneri have been in contact with the player’s agent for weeks to find a solution, but they have not found an agreement. Calhanoglu wants his pay more than doubling to €6m, a figure the club are not willing to go up to.
If Calhanoglu’s renewal does not bear fruit, Milan do not want to be caught unprepared and that is why they have resumed talks with the agent of Dominik Szoboszlai.
The Hungarian in the past has been close to Milan on two occasions, and now he is a name that is back in vogue. However, there is competition from other clubs as the likes of Arsenal and Real Madrid continue to be heavily linked, and to sign him Milan must trigger his €24m release clause.
