CorSport: Milan join Lazio in race for Liverpool forward and open talks with agents

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are interested in signing Xherdan Shaqiri and have probed the ground with his entourage, according to a report.

Shaqiri has never really been considered as an established starter since he joined from Stoke City but Jurgen Klopp has made him an important squad player, but after a season with only 5 starts in the Premier League and 14 total appearances, it seems as though a new adventure could be on the cards for the Swiss international, especially given the emergence of young talents such as Harvey Elliott.

This morning’s edition of il Corriere dello Sport (via Calciomercato.com) writes that Shaqiri is set to leave Liverpool this summer after asking for an exit in favour of more consistent playing time.

In addition to Lazio, the 29-year-old Swiss international has also attracted some interest from Milan, with the Rossoneri management having even reached out to his entourage to see if it would be a feasible operation.
