CorSport: Milan line up four replacements for €50m man amid Chelsea, PSG links

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan have identified four potential replacements for Gianluigi Donnarumma amid speculation he is set to leave this summer, a report claims.

It was reported by Tuttosport earlier today that there are four teams in the race to land Donnarumma should he choose not to renew with Milan, namely Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain, Juventus and Real Madrid – the latter of whom are willing to offer €50m.

According to il Corriere dello Sport (via MilanLive), the Rossoneri have been forced to assess possible replacements for Gigio so as not to be caught unaware if he does leave.

The first is Juan Musso from Udinese, at the height of his maturity at 25 and ready for a jump to a big club, plus a player who is not likely to command a huge transfer fee.

Then there is also Pierluigi Gollini of Atalanta, a name that chief scout Geoffrey Moncada admires in particular, but in this case it would be a rather complex negotiation given his importance to the Bergamo side.

Therefore two other names are on the list: Alessio Cragno from Cagliari and Alex Meret from Napoli.

The first is also be eager to make a professional leap, while the latter is looking for new pastures as head coach Gennaro Gattuso has so far preferred David Ospina to him, but unlike Cragno it would be a much more expensive operation.

The report concludes by confirming that Milan will demand €50million for their prized young shot stopper, a pure capital gain which does wonders for the balance sheet and provides a treasure with which to source a replacement.
