CorSport: Milan make Serbian defender No.1 target but must sell unwanted player first

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are hoping to finance a move for Fiorentina defender Nikola Milenkovic by selling Lucas Paqueta, a report claims.

According to a report from Monday’s edition of il Corriere dello Sport (via MilanLive), Milenkovic is the name at the top of Milan’s wish list to strengthen the rearguard.

The Rossoneri, at the moment, however, have only carried out an enquiry, also because fresh cash is needed to try to convince Rocco Commisso to sell the defender.

They do have an ally in their efforts to bring Milenkovic to Milan though in agent Fali Ramadani, whom Maldini and Massara have met several times to discuss a number of his clients, including Ante Rebic who joined permanently over the weekend.

The money for Milenkovic would come from the sale of Lucas Paqueta. There is concrete interest from Lyon for the Brazilian but also from Spanish clubs.

Leo Duarte and Mateo Musacchio will also leave but it is difficult to expect big revenues. Pioli wants the Serbian, whom he knows well, to complete a department that needs a starter to work alongside Kjaer and Romagnoli.
