The most important thing was for AC Milan to win against Fiorentina, but they will have to show more courage tomorrow night against Borussia Dortmund.
This morning’s edition of Corriere dello Sport (via PianetaMilan) writes how Milan are at their first real big crossroads of the season as they know that they really need to win against Borussia Dortmund to keep alive their hopes of reaching the last 16.
The challenge comes in a period that has not exactly been prosperous for the Rossoneri, fresh from a rather bad month in the league, with two draws from two goals up and two 1-0 defeats, plus Saturday’s gritty win over Fiorentina thanks to Theo Hernández’s penalty kick.
A victory and clean sheet is everything Milan would also like from tomorrow’s match against Borussia Dortmund but they will need much more. The same spirit and desire – as well as tactical application – is needed from the game that saw Stefano Pioli’s side come from behind and beat PSG.
The three Frenchmen will be fundamental to achieve the mission. Mike Maignan who was decisive against La Viola, Theo Hernández who scored the winning goal on Saturday and Olivier Giroud who scored the winner against PSG.
