CorSport: Milan offered Liverpool striker through intermediaries

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan have been offered the chance to sign striker Roberto Firmino on a free transfer by his entourage, according to a report.

Today’s edition of Corriere dello Sport (via PianetaMilan) writes how the primary objective for Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara (should they be kept for the coming season as well) will be to sign a striker who can score 15-20 goals per season.

Yesterday Liverpool officially announced that four players with expiring deals – namely Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, James Milner, Naby Keïta and Firmino – will not renew and will be free to sign for another club from next month.

There are several clubs keen on the Brazilian striker and he was offered to the Rossoneri through intermediaries. He is 31 years old and has a great desire to show his worth against after a tough last few months in England.

So far this season, Firmino has scored 11 goals and provided 5 assists in 33 games played for the Reds, playing an average of just 49 minutes per game.

  1. Milan has enough strikers at the 27+ age he has quality but it will be a waste on the salaries they have to invest in a striker for the future

      1. to be fair last time we won the cl in 07, had it not been for a bunch of young players in the squad that wasnt even utilized at all the average age of the squad would be in the 30ies.
When that is said im not really convinced either that firmino is a player we should pursue.

  2. Dis firmino guy as the quality we need in our attack. So i think he is the best opition for now and he is a free agant.

  3. If we were to sign a veteran striker on a free it clearly needs to be Icardi. Much better scoring record and also knows Serie A. He is also a year younger.

    1. Is his contract with Paris running over?
If yes, so sure. He’ll be a better scorer.

We have to sign these quality free players considering our cheap management

  4. Quality is there but hes injury prone. I dont think he would score more than 8 goals a season if we would get him.

  5. Bobby would tear them apart. He is like having a few extra players in the squad. His defensive stats from the front are immaculate. If you dilly dally with the ball he will Rob you and set someone up. He could unlock Divock too.

  6. he is the kind of striker that press hard on the opponent. someone pioli would really like on his system. i don’t think he is a 20+ goal scorer…tho maybe a 20+ goal contribution. milan should also chase thuram imo

  7. 109 goals in 360 appearances for Liverpool.

31 year old who has spent most of the last 6 months injured?

    Bring him in!

  8. No. A waste of money. Only thrives when there are goalscorers around him, which we DON’T have. Won’t get more goals than Giroud this season. Injury-prone, over 30..

    No, useless.

    1. He is at better level now than Giroud. Also, Firmino is great at supporting defense lines, where Giroud is useless. I would bring him and let Origi go.
