Milan are working hard to reinforce the squad and one of the priorities is the centre-back position. By the looks of it, the management’s dream is to give Nikola Milenkovic to head coach Stefano Pioli.
According to Corriere Dello Sport (via Milanlive.it), the Serbian defender is at the top of the club’s wish list. He had a good season with Fiorentina, during which he showed good qualities and tactical flexibility, able to play as a right-back as well.
However, it will be far from easy to sign Milenkovic. Milan initially proposed Lucas Paqueta in a swap deal, which Fiorentina refused as they only want cash (and a lot of it) to sell the former Partizan centre-back.
In addition to the Serbian, the Rossoneri are also monitoring the likes of German Pezzella and Kristoffer Ajer. The former would cost less than €20m but for now, he remains just an alternative on the wish list. The latter, however, could be the man.
