CorSport: Milan put Romagnoli contract talks on hold for the time being – the key reason

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan have decided to shelve talks over a renewal for captain Alessio Romagnoli for the time being as they have other priorities, a report claims.

Romagnoli arrived at the club five years ago after the Rossoneri paid €25million to sign him from Roma, and he recently made his 150th Serie A appearance for the club. Up until his injury during the game against Sassuolo he had played every minute of the current Serie A season.

However, il Corriere dello Sport (via MilanLive) are reporting how any talks over a possible renewal for Romagnoli – whose current deal expires in 2022 – will have to wait a bit longer.

That is because the situations surrounding Gianluigi Donnarumma, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Hakan Calhanoglu and Jack Bonaventura need addressing first, as all are on contracts which expire in the next year.

Romagnoli ‘s contract is still on Milan’s agenda and the player wishes to stay, but a meeting with agent Mino Raiola is needed in order to formalise the details. For the moment, though, the agenda is just too crowded.
