CorSport: Milan ready to reward Theo Hernandez with pay rise to fend off interested clubs

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan have no doubts regarding the future of Theo Hernandez and they intend to reward him for his fantastic performances, a report claims.

This morning’s edition of il Corriere dello Sport (via MilanLive) explains that at the end of the season the Milan management could begin talks with the agent of Theo Hernandez to negotiate the renewal of his contract, which would include a pay rise.

The current agreement between the Frenchman and Milan is valid until June 2024 and has a net salary of €1.5m per season. It is worth noting that his salary was also reduced from when he was at Real Madrid, as he accepted a pay cut to start a new adventure.

Paolo Maldini was of course a decisive factor in bringing Theo to Italy as he flew to Ibiza to meet him and convince him to move. There is a very good relationship between them and this could also count in the negotiations over a renewal. The 23-year-old is admired by foreign clubs, but the Rossoneri intend to lock him down and qualification for the next Champions League could be an important factor to reach an agreement.
