AC Milan have submitted all of the necessary paperwork to register for the 2026-27 season of Serie A, which was never at risk despite some reports lately.
Shortly after Gerry Cardinale decided to get rid of the entire management, it was reported that Milan needed a sporting director and a head coach by a certain date. If not, they supposedly wouldn’t be able to register for the 2026-27 season of Serie A.

However, as we wrote about, the July 16 deadline that had been thrown around actually doesn’t have anything to do with the two aforementioned roles. Indeed, Milan have until August 7 for the head coach and September 15 for the sporting director.
Registration now complete
As added by today’s edition of Corriere dello Sport (via MilanNews), Milan submitted their application for the 2026-27 season on Friday (July 12) and will thus be registered for it. This was never in doubt, as said, but some reports made the situation sound different.
Of course, there is still pressure on Milan to appoint a head coach and a sporting director, with the start of the pre-season getting closer. For example, waiting until August 7 to appoint a head coach just because you can is certainly not a feasible option.
