CorSport: Maldini and Massara admire Sassuolo winger – exchange could be offered

By Oliver Fisher -

One of the missions for the summer transfer window is to reinforce the right wing role, and Domenico Berardi’s name continues to do the rounds.

According to what Corriere dello Sport (via SempreMilan.it) are reporting, the time may have finally come for Berardi to leave Sassuolo in order to make his leap to a top club. Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara admire him a lot, but the Neroverdi continue to ask for a high figure.

Howerver, the CEO of Sassuolo – Giovanni Carnevali – seems to have opened up to the idea of them losing their captain before next season.

“He is our icon and the desire is to continue with him in the coming years too, we will also see what his will will be and we will try, as always, to find the best solution for everyone,” he said.

Berardi is valued by Sassuolo at around €15-18m, a figure that Milan want to reduce possibly with the inclusion of some counterpart such as Lorenzo Colombo – returning from loan to Lecce – or Matteo Gabbia.

  1. Where are you getting your valuations from? Berardi is valued at around €25-30 million. Colombo and Gabbia are €2 million players at best. Berardi would take a lot of the budget. It’s highly unlikely Milan will sign him when they need a young forward.

    1. This so true when I saw 15m I thought is this serious. I think his value is even more then 25m….lol

      1. Berardi value is 18mil
        Colombo value is 5mil
        and Gabia value is 7mil
This are the offical values as per transfermarkt.
Have in mind that Berardi is also an older player while someone like Colombo is just starting, so one value is bound to go down while the other should rise thru the years. And that plays a role in transfers as well.

  2. 15M€? Then it would be a no-brainer and should be finalized tomorrow. Highly unlikely that Sassuolo would sell him for less than 30-40M€ though as they’re always overvaluating their players.

  3. Beradi is not worth that, besides, he is injury prone, and honestly his best days are gone, it would be better for us to take Orsolini…

    1. LOL!!! Some people…

      Look at the stats.

Only one season out of 10 he has played half of the matches. 29-35 matches played out of 38 is far from “injury prone”.

And the total sums says quite a lot too: 297 matches and 113 goals & 80 assists. That’s ~0.4 goals per match. As a right winger. Not bad, not bad at all.

And let’s hear people say the legendary “he’s too old”-thing, eh? He’s 28. Probably has 4-5 great years ahead and some giroud-like pre-retirement years after that. Berardi isn’t someone you buy for increasing his market value and sell him later. He’s a player you buy to win matches against cremoneses, spezias, sassuolos etc to win the scudetto again. And again.

  4. This Acmilan opportunity to sign berardi at all cost Acmilan need this guy and saelermakers to function well as for Loftus cheek to me I felt Milan are not serious so instead of Milan to sign seko Fofana at least he can hold midfield more matured than Loftus. Beside Loftus cheek is too small handle Acmilan

  5. To include Colombo in a deal to get Beradi will hunt Milan in the future, what’s the rush with Colombo. Instead they can Include Messias, Rebic or Origi.
