CorSport: Milan send important signal with renewal of Hernandez – domino effect

By Isak Möller -

Last night, AC Milan announced the renewal of their defensive star Theo Hernandez, who has signed a new deal with the club until 2026. It’s an important signal that the Rossoneri were almost poised to send out.

The left-back has bagged four goals and eight assists for Milan this season and that says a lot about his importance. With several big clubs lining up for his services, the renwaö was thus very important (although the previous deadline was 2024).

As highlighted by Corriere Dello Sport (via MilanNews), Milan wanted to send a strong signal with the renewal, showing that they won’t lose all of their stars for free. And with that said, another two renewals are in the pipeline: Ismael Bennacer and Rafael Leao.

In other words, the renewal of Hernandez will potentially act as a domino effect in the sense that Bennacer and Leao will be more motivated to renew, as well as other players. Those who want to stay at Milan are seemingly getting their renewals.

  1. Nah, this means that players that deemed as important as Theo, Ben, and Leao, but haven’t renew yet are those that either have no desire to renew or getting their renewal neglected by the management.
It sad that Milan seems to rebuild every year, but to let loose player like Kessie, Donnaruma and Chalha is a necessity to return the club’s order, authority, and dignity
