CorSport: Milan star’s valuation more than doubles to €50m but a new challenge emerges

AC Milan are ready to build around left-back Theo Hernandez in the present and future, a report claims, but a new challenge has emerged.

Since his arrival from Real Madrid last summer the Frenchman has been nothing short of sensational, racking up six league goals and being one of the more consistent performers in a rollercoaster season.

According to il Corriere dello Sport (via MilanLive), the 22-year-old will absolutely categorically not be sold this summer despite interest from clubs abroad as he perfectly embodies the player profile that the club’s ownership want to build around.

Purchased for €20million last summer, Theo is now worth even more than double with a current valuation of €50million.

Now the left-back has his sights on breaking a record as the highest-scoring defender for Milan in a single season, a title currently held by Aldo Maldera who bagged nine goals in the 1978-79 campaign. Theo has six games available to do it.

In the meantime, the club will have to find a deputy for him: with Diego Laxalt and Ricardo Rodriguez are outside the plans, so Milan are looking for a young player who can allow the former Real Madrid to take the odd break.
