CorSport: Milan have been in talks over €20m Fiorentina striker for weeks – the situation

AC Milan have held talks over the past few weeks regarding Fiorentina striker Arthur Cabral and could be laying the groundwork for a move, a report claims.

As reported today by Corriere dello Sport (via FantaCalcio), Cabral could become a serious target for Milan. Talks have been going on since the beginning of June meaning it not a brand new idea but in the coming weeks it could become more concrete.

At the moment Lorenzo Colombo is playing in the friendlies in the United States, but it is clear that the former Lecce man intends to go to another side to find more playing time.

Thus, the Cabral idea has emerged again. Fiorentina won’t sell Luka Jovic in the summer window, but for the Brazilian striker they would accept a bid in the region of €20m.

The negotiation is open, although it is not an operation to be closed immediately but possibly later in the window. The parties will update shortly, to understand if a lower price could be accepted, and the freeing up of an extra non-EU slot helps.

Goal Brasil reported last month that the Rossoneri have secured priority in the event Cabral is sold. No document was signed, but a pact was made between the two presidents Paolo Scaroni and Rocco Commisso.

They stated that La Viola refused the request at first, but ‘gave in to the attacks’ in January, and the agreement means Milan will be consulted in the event of a formal offer from another club. However, his agent attempted to pour cold water on the idea.

The 25-year-old scored nine goals for Fiorentina last season across all competitions, with eight of them coming in his 28 league games.
